KMU.DIGITAL: 30 % Funding for Your New Website
Austrian small and medium businesses can have their website implementation subsidised. I am the technical implementation partner, not the consultant. Here is what that means for you.
How much funding is there?
KMU.DIGITAL subsidises the implementation of digitalisation projects. The key figures, as of July 2026:

This is where most of the confusion starts, so to be completely clear:

- I build the website described in the consulting concept
- I issue an invoice you can submit for reimbursement
The funding rules require consulting and implementation to come from different companies. That is exactly why this combination works: you get the consulting from a certified consultant, and I do the build.
How it works

Certified consulting
You approach a KMU.DIGITAL certified consultant. The digitalisation concept is created there. Not with me.

File the application
You apply for the implementation grant before the project starts. The order matters.

Implementation by me
I build the website, the booking system or the tool from the concept. Fixed price, as always.

Reimbursement
You submit my invoice and get 30 % of the net cost back.
Which packages are eligible?
The implementation grant starts at a project volume of €2,000. That gives:

How much funding do I get for my website?
30 % of eligible net costs, up to €6,000 per company. For a business website from €2,790 that is roughly €837. It requires a project volume between €2,000 and €30,000 and subsidised consulting carried out beforehand.
Can you do the consulting as well?
No. I am not a certified KMU.DIGITAL consultant, and the funding rules require consulting and implementation to come from different companies anyway. I am the implementation partner for phase 2.
Do I have to apply before the project starts?
Yes. The implementation grant is applied for before the project begins. Building first and applying afterwards means getting nothing. The order is: consulting, application, implementation, reimbursement.
Is this the same as the Geräte-Retter-Prämie?
No, they are two entirely different things. The Geräte-Retter-Prämie is for private individuals and subsidises device repairs at 50 %, up to €130. KMU.DIGITAL is for businesses and subsidises digitalisation projects at 30 %, up to €6,000.
Am I eligible as a sole trader?
KMU.DIGITAL is aimed at Austrian small and medium businesses, sole traders included. Whether you meet the criteria in your specific case is decided by the funding body. The binding criteria are published on kmudigital.at.
